1. China's General Administration of Customs Updates E-Cigarette Export Data for June of This Year



Recently, China's General Administration of Customs (GAC) updated the export data of electronic cigarettes in June this year. The data shows that the export value of China's electronic cigarette products (including electronic cigarettes and similar personal electronic atomisation devices, and other nicotine-containing non-combustible smoking products) in June was 6.575 billion RMB (RMB 65,750,827,818), a decrease of 5.26% from the previous month, and a year-on-year increase of 14.8%.

The amount of money involved was more than RMB 6 million.

7. FDA issues warning letters to three flavoured e-cigarette distributors

On July 27, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued warning letters to three distributors, ABS Distribution Inc., EC Supply, Inc. and Easy Wholesale, LLC, stating that the distributors were selling and/or distributing a variety of unauthorised flavoured e-cigarette products.

The FDA said it has 15 business days from receipt of the warning letters to respond, take steps to correct the violations and prevent recurrence. Failure to correct violations in a timely manner may result in FDA taking enforcement action, such as injunctions, seizures, and/or civil monetary penalties.



8. More than 9,000 types of e-cigarettes on sale in the United States



According to the Associated Press, the number of types of e-cigarettes being sold in the United States has now increased significantly to more than 9,000 due to the large number of unauthorised disposable e-cigarettes entering the US market. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) claimed that they rejected about 99% of the applications for the sale of e-cigarettes and approved only a few e-cigarettes for adult smokers.



9. Russian Customs Seize Smuggled E-Cigarettes Worth 6.5 Million Rubles


Customs officials, along with the Federal Security Service (FSB) and transport police, have seized more than 7,000 smuggled e-cigarettes worth 6.5 million rubles (about $513,000) in the Tomsk region, Russia's Kemerovo Customs Press Service reported. It is understood that the unlabelled e-cigarettes from China were destined for Tomsk shops.
